Alan Lund is the Executive Vice President of Magnetics at MP Materials (NYSE: MP), a leading producer of rare earth materials essential for advanced technologies. MP Materials owns and operates Mountain Pass, North America's only integrated rare earth mining and processing site. MP Materials recently opened a new magnetics manufacturing facility in AllianceTexas, positioning MP to begin producing NdPr metal and NdFeB alloy and magnets in the United States.

Before joining MP Materials in 2021, Alan held various key roles in the technology and materials industry, starting as a postdoctoral associate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2002. Alan later co-founded Xtalic Corporation in 2005 and was the Chief Technology Officer until 2021. Alan was also the Chief Technology Officer at Braidy Industries and founded and led Veloxint as CEO.

Alan Lund completed his Bachelor of Science in Materials Science at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and earned his Ph.D. from Northwestern University.
